During this internship, I collected, processed and reported on underground GPR surveys using various geophysical software (Ekko View, Schlumberger Vista, Seisware) and help collected EM Induction surveys. I also aided evaluation of a microseismic event detection program developed in-house and in the creation of a geospatial well buffer zone database.

Ottawa, Canada Area

During this co-operative education work term I initiated the use of the Weather Research and Forecasting model for NRC. I documented the system requirements, setup and use instructions for desktop use. A four month 3 degree by 3 degree model was run and analyzed to introduce the NRCC's Construction Research Centre to the value of the numerical weather prediction system.

Fort Mcmurray, Alberta

As a research assistant for the Hydrometeorology Group, I maintained and uploaded meteorological data from Campbell Scientific loggers, collected water samples, as well as collected hydrological data for multiple North Albertan fens, including Suncor's Nikanotee fen.

St. Marys Cement

This work term primarily involved strong time management, planning, and organizational skills to ensure that samples would undergo multiple and varying time-consuming and time-sensitive tests.Tasks included daily, weekly, and monthly wet lab tests of clinker, petroleum coke, cement, and raw materials. Additionally, work involved use of a PANalytical XRF spectrometer, LECO elemental analyzer, and CLAISSE M4 fusion instruments.Work term research and report topic: Correlation of Clinker Density and Free Lime Concentration
