Pilot Plant Commission and Optimisation• Led the commissioning and optimisation of a commercial demonstration pilot plant (no. 4) leading to stable, routine production to provide demonstration of commercial viability of the process• Problem solving to rectify challenges in the commission of a first of it’s kind processing plant, such as development of unique reactor profiles, feeding systems and downstream processing• Design and installation of new hardware and software for plant information and control system - providing repeatability and data harvesting to enhance understanding of process parametersProject Management• Complete management of $250k pilot plant 4 project from the initial grant application, through research, design, manufacture, construction and final commissioning processes• Execution of project plan within time, quality and budget constraints with regular progress and strategy meetings with CEO, as well as briefing visits for board members and shareholders• Complete project management of company relocation to upscale office and factory facilities providing more capacity for expansion in both production and marketing• Team leading through design, manufacture, construction and commissioning phases of projects, giving me a holistic understanding of the overall process and it’s constraints and implicationsProcess Design and Construction• Conceptualised and created working design for unprecedented 10x scale up of previous pilot plants to satisfy commercial demonstration requirements and further development• Working with consultants to incorporate research performed on specific aspects of the process• Production of detailed design drawings for manufacture• Working with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the design could be constructed within funding constraints from the company and the government grant regulations

Government Grant Application• Producing the information required to satisfy the technical requirements of a $250k Government Technology Voucher Program Grant to fund commercial demonstration scale pilot plant (no. 4)• Creation of innovative and cost effective design concept to scale up the existing pilot plant to satisfy the production demand within the grant budget• Sourcing, engaging and managing the relationships with consultants and manufacturers who were required to form part of the grant applicationProduction Management• Leading the team operating the production equipment producing Levoglucosenone for market development trials using pilot plants 2 and 3• Time and resources planning for myself and the team reporting to me• Team development through use of progress reviews and psychometric evaluations• Creation of standard operating procedures in line with company ISO9001 certification pathway• Development discussions with CEO and chief scientist to determine development path forwards• Streamlining and safety improvements in production including of 5S housekeeping implementation• Management of safety upgrades and processing improvements on production equipment to meet regulatory approval and assist in ISO9001 accreditation goals
