Scott Grubman is one of the most well-respected and accomplished trial lawyers in the State of Georgia. Scott uses his experience as a former federal prosecutor and years of experience as a defense lawyer to provide aggressive and strategic representation to his clients in connection with government investigations, False Claims Act defense, high-stakes civil litigation, and white collar criminal defense. Scott has built a reputation as a hard-nosed litigator who passionately and fearlessly defends his clients both inside and outside of the courtroom, managing their reputations and protecting their legal rights. While he represents clients across a wide range of industries, much of Scott's practice involves representing healthcare providers in government investigations and litigation involving the DOJ, HHS-OIG, and state Medicaid Fraud Control Units, as well as in administrative proceedings. Scott also regularly represents clients in white collar matters outside of the healthcare industry, including before the DOJ, SEC, and other regulatory bodies. He has handled a wide variety of criminal cases including those involving public corruption, theft, and fraud. He has tried numerous criminal and civil cases to verdict. Many of Scott’s cases have garnered substantial national-and even international-media attention, giving Scott significant experience handling such high-profile matters. He has also handled “street crime” cases, including murder. After graduating from law school with highest honors and clerking for two federal judges (both district and circuit courts), Scott served as a Trial Attorney for the DOJ in Washington, D.C., and then as an AUSA in Savannah. As an AUSA, Scott investigated and prosecuted healthcare and other white collar fraud cases, and was a member of the district's Healthcare Fraud Taskforce. Scott also represented the United States as lead counsel in dozens of cases in both federal District Court and before the Eleventh Circuit, including felony criminal prosecutions, criminal and civil appeals, habeas, constitutional claims, and asset forfeiture. Scott was awarded a Special Commendation by the DOJ for his work. Scott is a thought leader in the areas of healthcare fraud and abuse and white collar defense, having published dozens of articles in nationally-recognized publications, and regularly presenting at conferences and seminars nationwide. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Emory University and Georgia State University law schools, where he teaches white collar crime and healthcare fraud and abuse.

Founding/Managing PartnerChilivis Grubman Jan 2020 - PresentGreater Atlanta AreaI represent businesses and individuals -- particularly those in the healthcare industry -- in connection with government investigations, False Claims Act and other complex civil litigation, and white collar criminal defense. In addition, I have extensive experience representing healthcare providers in connection with all types of government audits and appeals. Because the best defense is often a good offense, I also regularly advise healthcare providers on compliance issues in order to help keep them off of the government's radar. In addition to my healthcare practice, I have extensive experience representing businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation matters, including actions involving breach of contract, business torts, and employment, and in white collar criminal matters, at both the trial and appellate levels. -
