I have been part of the construction industry for over 30 years as a structural engineer and my experience is built on the design and management projects extending across the following market sectors: aviation, education, healthcare, hotels, offices, pedestrian bridges, renovations and alterations, retail, sports, structural condition assessments, and threshold building inspections. The experience covers the entire range of project development encompassing business development, contract negotiation, construction documents, and construction administration. This experience includes developing framing concepts and selecting framing systems, which include reinforced concrete, structural steel, precast concrete, tilt-up construction, light gage steel, concrete masonry, and timber. I have extensive experience in the renovation and alteration of existing buildings which involved the re-configuration or strengthening of the structural framing systems to accommodate expansions or additions to buildings or changes in use. Paralleling this experience includes performing structural condition assessments and determining the cause of failures or damages to the structure or building envelope using evaluation methods that include materials testing, 3D finite-element structural analysis, and in-situ testing which includes load testing the structure to determine its load carry capacity. My experience with existing buildings has included the structural condition assessment and renovation of historical buildings. My structural assessment and forensic engineering experience includes the following types of buildings or structures: amphitheaters, churches, commercial, government facilities, historic buildings, multi-family residential, offices, parking garages, retaining walls, retail shopping centers, sports facilities (which includes football, baseball and marine stadiums), and entertainment theaters.
