As the largest one-to-one mentoring organizations in the Southeast, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) currently serves over 3,400 youth in one-to-one relationships. Our service to our community extends beyond the city of Atlanta to the 12-county metropolitan area surrounding the city: Butts, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale. Our staff of approximately 45 employees supports our city’s children and their families through friendships that are formed with caring adult volunteers.•Facilitated one-on-one mentoring partnerships between the youth and the mentor.•Assed the character of the adult mentor as well assess the character of the youth and their family.•Conducted outside visits to the youth’s home to gain an assessment of their lifestyle and environment.•Analyzed the growth of the relationship, length of the participants in the program, and the strength of those mentoring.•Typed final reports, prepared copies of documents, and made appropriate referrals to private and public agencies.•Met and exceeded the monthly action plan set forth by the Marketing Team. •Conducted weekly home visits to the participants home to ensure that they were living safe conditions for the program rules.
