I am working for Fiji Electricity Authority as Generation Technician. I have been involved with many projects and new installations with diesel generators at major power station in Vitilevu and Vanualevu and at hydro stations including screen cleaner installation at the Weir, Dam raiser project, pump room and compressor wiring, 415 volts upgrade etc. My major job at FEA was major overhaul of generators (Electrical & Mechanical), station operations and generator maintenance and troubleshooting. Also keeping records for spares, ordering new spares and some basic civil works.During my employment, I have also been involved in earth tests, ground works, earthing works, generator installation, transformer installation, HV breaker installation,fuel works, commissioning of generators and full station operation works. My everyday job was station operation, generator troubleshooting and maintenance and HV switching.

Required me to undertake fault diagnosis, overhauls, maintains, services inspects repairs, modifies and tests plants (mills, generator, boilers, drives, processing plants, etc.) and components. Plan, design and oversee the development, installation, operation and maintenance of machinery. Conduct research to solve practical engineering problems and improve efficiency. Oversee the general maintenance of all the plants during operations, plan for the work that needs to be carried out and raise orders for the schedule maintenance and spares. Allocate manning for the job to be done and estimate the hours for the job to estimated time of finish. Make decisions on the improvements of the design to avoid failures and improved operational results.
