I completed an internship with Canadian Natural Resources in Aberdeen City where I worked on a range of projects. I was actively involved in analyzing production well downtimes and learning how to use SEEQ to model wells to predict production rates. I also helped forecast maintenance requirements and assisted with budgeting.As an intern, my role in budgeting involved working closely with senior staff to gather data and compile information for budget proposals. I helped to analyze historical data on production costs, capital expenditures, and operational expenses to identify trends and make projections for the upcoming fiscal year. I also assisted in preparing presentations and reports to communicate budget proposals to stakeholders within the company.Through my involvement in budgeting, I gained a deeper understanding of the financial side of the oil and gas industry, including how production costs are calculated, how investments in infrastructure impact the budget, and how operational decisions can affect the bottom line. Overall, my internship with Canadian Natural Resources provided me with a valuable foundation of skills and knowledge that will serve me well as I continue my career in the industry.
