As part of my Graduate Assistant hours, I helped the Exercise and Health Science Department's Laboratory Technician with his daily duties which included setting up and calibrating lab equipment to be used for instruction or student investigation. CWU also built a brand new $60 million Health Sciences building where I had the opportunity to help unbox, setup, calibrate, mantain, and be a student of equipment such as metabolic analyzers (COSMED Quark and K5 , MOXUS, ParvoMedic), body composition analyzers (EXERTECH Hydrostatic Weighing, COSMED BodPod, DEXA, and various BIA equipment using different methods), Hypoxico normobaric altitude chamber, Woodway treadmills, AlterG Treadmill, and various exercise equipment. My responsibility also included maintenance on general health science related equipment (stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers, blood glucose monitors, etc....) and providing support to the CWU Laboratory of Anatomical Discovery. Since I was well versed in much of the equipment, faculty entrusted my abilities to independently use equipment to ensure proper functionality and also to run independent experiments that would lead to a better educational experience.

Teaching Assistant in courses related to ACSM exercise testing, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Statistics, and held a special position as a Lab Tech Assistant. I also instructed lab sections for an introductory exercise science course for non-majors and assisted with various laboratory investigations regarding behavioral health and its interrelationship with human physiology.

I facilitated patient care and bolstered communication between patients and providers through meticulous back-office responsibilities. My tasks encompassed medication procurement, proactive notification of any discrepancies or patient concerns to the home clinic, and succinctly summarizing Medical Assistant notes to facilitate effective communication with providers.

The patient care coordinator works closely with patients and providers to increase treatment success. This involves patient services, care coordination, working with patients to help them understand and adhere to their treatment plan, as well as performing minor clinical procedures such as blood draws and injections.Responsibilities: Be influential in starting, continuing, and renewing patient programs. Build rapport with patients and provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Manage a roster of patients. Communicate lab test results and physician’s recommendations to patients. Handle ordering of medications. Learn the EMR Clinic System. Take vitals. Process, handle, and deposit cash, card, and check payments, and manage payment plans. Professionally handle and manage patient concerns and complaints. Greet patients and properly escort them in and out.

The Department of Exercise and Health Science offers fee-for-service laboratory testing. These tests are available to the general public and Willamette University faculty and students.

As a Human Anatomy Teaching Assistant I was responsible for aiding weekly laboratory sections, holding review sessions for personal peer tutoring, performing weekly specialized dissections to uncover specific anatomic structures, and attending weekly collaborative meetings with peers on the tutor team and the professor.

Provided support for the Salem, Oregon Hospital Emergency Department which is the busiest ED on the west coast. My responsibilities included providing patient support in the waiting room and fulfilling requests on the behalf of patients (with approval of nurse or physician).

I specialized in creating a diverse array of commercial graphic products, ranging from striking storefront window wraps to dynamic stickers, apparel designs, and various other custom items. My role extended to developing distinctive logos tailored to the unique identities of both startup companies and individual clients. Collaborating closely with a diverse clientele including small businesses and educational institutions, I delivered personalized branding solutions that effectively captured their vision and objectives. Through my creative expertise, I ensured that each design resonated with target audiences, driving brand recognition and engagement.

Shadowed Dr. Devin Dean over my summer break from college. My experience included observing the physical therapist work with patients of all ages in a one-on-one setting. Primarily, adult and elderly patients were undergoing rehabilitation to improve function after injury or to combat the natural process of aging. My responsibilities mostly included preparation of equipment, exam rooms, and workout spaces prior to patients entering. I was also able to work with patients under the supervision of Dr. Dean using various tools in the clinic and employ simple rehabilitative techniques.

Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to overseeing high school athletics and activities statewide. With 19 sanctioned activities and 116 state championships held annually, OSAA is committed to serving member schools by providing leadership and state coordination for interscholastic endeavors. Interns will have the opportunity to observe and actively participate in social media planning, graphic design, communications, athletic administration, and sports information, broadening their skill set and enhancing their professional development.

Spearheaded the meticulous management of daily inventory levels across all stands, orchestrating seamless supply deliveries to ensure uninterrupted service excellence. Conducted comprehensive weekly inventory audits, liaising closely with our distributor to facilitate timely and efficient receipt of large-scale shipments to our warehouse.
