CWU also built a brand new $60 million Health Sciences building where I had the opportunity to help unbox, setup, calibrate, mantain, and be a student of equipment such as metabolic analyzers (COSMED Quark and K5 , MOXUS, ParvoMedic), body composition analyzers (EXERTECH Hydrostatic Weighing, COSMED BodPod, DEXA, and various BIA equipment using different methods), Hypoxico normobaric altitude chamber, Woodway treadmills, AlterG Treadmill, and various exercise equipment. My responsibility also included maintenance on general health science related equipment (stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers, blood glucose monitors, etc....) and providing support to the CWU Laboratory of Anatomical Discovery. Since I was well versed in much of the equipment, faculty entrusted my abilities to independently use equipment to ensure proper functionality and also to run independent experiments that would lead to a better educational experience. -
