While working on my PhD in Building Science, I performed energy audits on over 50 buildings using BMS data to determine if existing commercial buildings could be retrofit to achieve Net Zero Energy. As a Building Scientist at Beca, I knew many of our customers were wasting 20-30% of their energy because their building’s HVAC systems were not optimised. Through my research, I discovered that by analysing BMS data to quickly identify and implement HVAC energy savings measures, we could deliver 10-30% savings.This led to the founding of BTune in 2016.
