At Long Live the Kings, I manage projects to restore wild salmon and steelhead and support sustainable fishing in the Pacific Northwest. Our vision is a Northwest with a growing human population, a thriving economy, and strong and vibrant salmon runs. I work with collaborators to implement the Hood Canal Bridge Assessment, which seeks ways to reduce the high mortality of young steelhead as they swim past the bridge on their way to the ocean. I manage a partnership between Vigor, LLTK and the University of Washington's Wetland Ecosystem Team to evaluate the effectiveness of restoring habitat along the Harbor Island shoreline within the Duwamish estuary. I am also working to launch a collaborative initiative to increase salmon resilience in the face of climate change throughout their range in North America.

As Scientific Collaborations Director, I advanced and maintained partnerships with diverse science organizations. I regularly represented the company and agriculture and irrigation sector clients in scientific, management, and policy settings. I managed domestic and international programs and staff remotely and in person, planned annual program activities, solved management issues, and adapted the programs to rapidly changing on-the-ground conditions. In California, I established, led, and participated in a variety of working groups and project teams on collaborative science. In this capacity, I directly engaged with managers and scientific researchers to identify management-relevant research needs. I developed and hosted tours to educate agricultural stakeholders on fisheries research and habitat restoration. In Cambodia and Lao PDR, I developed and facilitated workshops for researchers and resource managers. As a Senior Fisheries Biologist, I co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles relating to fisheries research projects in Southeast Asia and the Guidelines for Assessing Fish Conservation Zones in Lao PDR.

As a project manager and fisheries biologist, I planned, developed, and managed research projects in California and Southeast Asia, including aspects of long-term adult and juvenile salmonid monitoring programs in the Central Valley of California. I helped establish and expand a company office in Lao PDR, and supervised Lao staff remotely and in person. I conducted data analysis and authored data summaries, memos to clients, and reports to funders. I also authored blog posts and newsletters describing research for lay audience. I reviewed, interpreted, and synthesized technical and regulatory documents for clients and lay audience.

Thesis title: "The age, growth, and reproduction of the Bering skate, Bathyraja interrupta (Gill & Townsend, 1897), from the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska"

Investigated the age, growth and reproduction of two species of Alaskan skate and compared two methods for preparing elasmobranch structures for ageing.

Cataloged books and grey literature; assisted patrons with Interlibrary Loans, check-ins and check-outs; digitized and archived serials.

Developed a pilot study of the use of acoustical cues from nearest neighbors to determine re-emergence times in a refuge seeking species, fiddler crabs (Uca terpsichores).
