As a Prison Offender Manager, I lead on offender management by assessing and reviewing targets with prisoners, and by providing guidance and recommendations to partner agencies. - Use the Offending Assessment System (OASys) to assess the risk and needs of an offender. - Implement sentence plans and deliver offending-based interventions on a 1:1 basis, such as developing problem-solving and consequential thinking skills. - Provide professional advice and risk assessments to prison-based departments and partner criminal justice agencies. - Collate information and produce professional reports for parole hearings. - Contribute to Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) Boards and work with all relevant external agencies to protect the public when releasing prisoners under MAPPA - Instigate public protection measures and share relevant safeguarding information with agencies. - Effectively manage risk whilst in prison and contribute to multi-agency/ departmental meetings. - Effectively challenge problematic behaviour and inspire behavioural change through the use of a holistic, person-centered approach - Encourage and support prisoners to participate in education, interventions, and workshops, and to develop strategies to help prisoners to overcome reluctance and resistance. - Liaise with probation service regarding Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL), Home Detention Curfew (HDC), and transfers to other prisons. Case managed female offenders that have been referred to the Whole System Approach Diversion Scheme via police custody. The Whole System Approach provided a coordinated multi-agency approach in supporting women across the criminal justice system. The scheme aimed to divert women away from crime by gaining access to community interventions to address their problems. - As a Caseworker, I assessed suitability for the scheme based on criminogenic needs principles-Delivered trauma-informed, person-centered, structured programme of support based on the needs of women.-Worked in a multi-agency framework with police, probation, prison, social workers, and local agencies, to deliver coordinated support. -Attended safeguarding conferences and provided advocacy for women.
