January 2011 to Present – daily supply cover in mainly Reception, Year1 and Year 2. September 2010 to Dec 2010 - I taught in a year 2 class working closely with children who were working below their chronological age which I found challenging but enjoyable.April 2010 to July 2010 - I worked with a class of year 1 children in a local Bedfordshire school. Nov 2009 to April 2010 - I worked in a local Stevenage school in a year 2 class. Some of these children had challenging behaviour.

I worked in years 3 and 4, but mainly years 3. My responsibilities had been those of any class teacher as well as writing IEP’s, using the APP grids for assessing children’s work in numeracy and literacy, using the new maths primary framework and planning in a cross-curricular way through the creative learning journey. Throughout my time here I co-ordinated R.E and Science. Through the role of co-ordinator I was responsible for ensuring these curriculum areas were well resourced, planned R.E medium term plans with teachers through the use of the H.C.C syllabus, observed lessons taught by other teachers, had other teachers observe how I teach these subjects, organising trips to the local Gurdwara or Church and completed SEF forms at the end of the summer terms. After school I ran a homework club which was initially set up due to the increasing demand from the Asian community to help their children with homework, as they felt that they themselves weren’t equipped to do so but understood the importance behind it. This ran successfully for a few years to all children that wished to attend. At times I had the opportunity to communicate effectively by speaking in Punjabi to Asian parents who struggle with the English language.
