The National Refugee-led Advisory and Advocacy Group (NRAAG) is an Australian refugee-ledentity with the purpose of creating spaces and platforms for voices of former refugees, peopleseeking asylum, and people from refugee-like backgrounds to be included in decisions, policies,public and media discourse about them. NRAAG's aim is to ensure that the people whose lives areimpacted by decisions made and actions taken are also playing an essential part in the decisionmaking process. NRAAG envisions to do this by informing key policies, service delivery, campaigns,research, and initiatives affecting the lives of its constituents with a range of partners and allies.The guiding principle deeply entrenched in all of NRAAG’s work is the belief that given theopportunity and the right resources, those with first-hand experience of an issue, the impactedcommunities, are best placed to devise the most effective and efficient solutions to their ownchallenges. With this strengths-based approach and the expertise of lived experience, we aim to joinforces with key players in the refugee rights movement to find solutions that will positively enhancethe lives of refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia.

Metropolitan Partnerships is a new platform for cooperative engagement between governments, business and communities. These Partnerships look for opportunities to drive improved social, economic and environmental outcomes and advise the government on actions that can make a real difference to livability and prosperity across metropolitan Melbourne regions, so that all Melburnians have access to the jobs, services and local infrastructure they need. I represent the Southern region.

I have developed and delivered multiple projects that focus on building resilience and developing capability within a strengths-based, family and community-focused framework, to support young people in becoming influential members of the Australian society as well as having a direct voice into the organisation’s policy and advocacy work.

Delivered keynote speeches, facilitated workshops and trainings, presented on panels, and hosted/emcee'd events at schools, universities, local and state government agencies, private, non-profit and community organisations, community forums, conferences and media speaking on a wide range of issues concerning young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

ReConnect (Refugee•Connect) aims to bridge a critical knowledge gap between refugees and host communities by providing an app-based, peer learning platform that connects a local with a newcomer prior to their arrival in the country of relocation/resettlement in Europe.ReConnect addresses the lack of pre-departure education and information of both communities whilst also enabling refugees to create and develop genuine networks within countries of relocation/resettlement. ReConnect aims to help reduce social stigmas and negative stereotypes associated with refugees and promote better understanding of global forced migration and its challenges.
