Smarter Futures are a research and strategy consultancy with partners in the Netherlands, Spain and England. We have a keen interest in systemic innovation and as such, our work covers a broad range of areas with a special focus on health and social care. Completed projects - Development and collaboration in an impact investment initiative for the Province of Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. - Preparation of a proposal, on a European Knowledge and Innovation Community in Health, for a Basque Coalition that included Mondragon Coorperation and Osakidetza. - Preparation of an ERASMUS+ proposal on Assisted Living Technology and Skills (ALTAS) for health and social care professionals

Management of a 20+ team of scientists that provide R&D support for SMEs in the healthcare and information, communication and technologies sectors. Example project- Led the 2013 - 2018 technology roadmapping for the company together with the other R&D departments- Management, development and presentation of the only healthy ageing project funded by the Department of Industry of the Basque Government. It was approved for three years for € 1.2m.

Project management and project planning for multi-disciplinary teams (Clinical, financial, infrastructure and risk management) in the NHS. Negotiation of contracts between Providers and Payers.Example project - Project managed the 5-year business planning process for a proposed social enterprise that delivers children’s services. Project management and software development for phase II and III data for Cancer Research UK data from O-15 PET images.Example projectApplied lean manufacturing principles to improve the quality of clinical data in project funded by Cancer Research UK. Standardised the analysis of [15O]H2O on abdominal tumours and head and neck cancers.

Development of academic unit and presentation of results at international conferences. Research and development of new technologies.Initialised research group of international partners for a EU consortium on ‘Robots for Landmine Detection’.
