I manage Sound Media Ventures, an alternative investments firm I established in 2020 to invest early in media technology founders. An operator-turned-VC, I leverage my domain-specific experience and my network to add value to our portfolio companies, which are normally early-stage high-tech startups. I believe Entrepreneurship is Art: You start with a white canvas and an idea, and you apply your colors to create something out of nothing. It's a creative process that involves imagination, skill development, hard work, patience, love, and grit. A strong founder is a passionate artist who dives deeply into their work. Prior to this decade, I built and led Neurotic Media, a high-tech platform that served global Fortune 500 brands with a robust music supply chain and supported back-end and user-facing music features. Think "iTunes in a box", SaaS model. After 17 years of managing our growth, I secured the 10x exit of Neurotic Media to Peloton Interactive (NASDAQ: PTON) in 2018, and as a result also served as VP of Music at Peloton 2018-2019.I participate in several global investment networks. I enjoy remaining curious and learning from others at each and every step along the journey. Having been a part of PEF (post exit founders) since 2023, I now chair the fast-growing ATL Chapter. The comradery within PEF, with everyone having shared the hi-tech entrepreneurial journey through an exit, is invigorating.For more than two decades, I've been advising and mentoring founders at the formation, angel, and seed level via various accelerators, including LA-based Techstars Music, Georgia Tech’s ATDC and Create-X, Georgia State University’s Main Street, and MN-based Gener8tor. I served on boards with Atlanta Technology Angels, GA Tech College of Creative Design (Dean's Executive Advisory Board), and Georgia Music Partners (as President). In 2025 my focus will be on Georgia Humanities.

At Neurotic Media, we drove consumer behavior with popular artists and songs. Our B2B services (i.e. SaaS) utilized our proprietary, patented software platform for distributing and marketing music online in white-label and bespoken configurations. We provided brands with control over how they commercialized digital media using private-labeled UX and API services. Some used to refer to this as an "iTunes in a box" or a "Spotify in a box", to help illustrate some reiterations. Those are but two example use cases of how brands used Neurotic Media. We worked with over 5,000 brands during the company 's life. This was a wonderful, 18-years journey shared with an amazing group of colleagues, partners, and investors. -

We inked the first-ever digital distribution deals as a B2B SaaS provider in early 1998 with Tower Records, Warehouse Music, and Transworld Entertainment. I spent three years running point on business development globally. I learned a ton at Amplified, worked with an amazing crew, and built a fantastic network of colleagues who, in the following decade, rose across the music ecosystem as leaders and executives. -
