My responsibilities include conducting research, building government partnerships, and strategizing team-wide initiatives. I work closely with mentors to solidify our strategies and engage with government partners at ULB, State, and Central levels, particularly in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. I oversee the execution of consultations, supervise report production, and support fundraising efforts.For operations, I focus on capacity building within Ministries and Departments through training, events, and resource development for public consultations. I track and monitor upcoming consultations, manage end-to-end execution of consultations, and ensure high-quality feedback mechanisms. My responsibilities also include leading efforts to enhance team capacity, promote PLCP adoption within governments, and build awareness about Civis’ work through various channels. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has directed Sakshi to deliver capacity-building workshops to NSS volunteers in 40,000 colleges across India, in order to create and nurture youth as ‘powerful enablers’ in creating a constitutional rights-based environment for gender equality, with a focus on preventing child sexual abuse (as defined under the POCSO Act 2012). Through this initiative, Sakshi is working towards a social tipping point where the NSS volunteers who choose to become ‘Rakshins’ or Champions of Change with a preventive mindset, stand up and speak against CSA and build a culture of accountability. As Deputy Director, my responsibilities were multifold:Program Design: Building the pedagogy and determining the theory of change to meet the objectives of the Government’s directives. Project Management: Bringing on board all the stakeholders, partners, and individuals as well as managing their roles and relationships to the project. Government: Liaising with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.Fundraising: Meeting the seed goal of 20L for the first phase of the project.
