I am passionate about Molecular Biology. My main research area focuses on cell therapy approaches to treat diabetes. I aim at combining Research with a clinical approach. I have been working with molecular biology methods, in vivo studies, cell culture methods, organoid generation and culture, gene editing techniques, 3D bioprinting, microscopy imaging and stem cell technology. I am certified to work under GMP regulations and I have been working with isolation of primary human islets for clinical islet transplantation in patients with severe form of type 1 diabetes. I like working in multidisciplinary environments and am driven by challenges in the biomedical field. I am also part of a multidisciplinary group in which we work with organ-on-a-chip models to study the cross-talk between organs on microfluidic platforms.
