Continuing with the development of the Karismath Courseware and curriculum and the Karismath Assessment Protocol.Have developed the content and design of the Karismath Teacher-Training Program.Started the KarisEnglish Program for rural and peri-Urban populations in Pakistan and India. Completed Module 1, Domain consisting of 10 Lessons that carry around 80 video clips. The instructional design is similar to the one used for Karismath: entirely visual, with animations.

I develop and design Mathematics courseware for the developing world, specially rural populations who have no heritage in formal mathematics learning. I have some serious concerns about the prevailing Math curriculii carrying civilizational bias within it like a virus. There are unquestioned assumptions regarding the need, reasons, motivations and goals for learning mathematics. Most of them may not be shared by a huge rural population (possibly a world majority) in the developing world. Such populations are educationally disenfranchised and do not relate to a math curriculum that promises them the life of an astronaut, a rocket scientist or an engineer. Karismath lessons explain Math concepts using visual mediation. I employ visual mediation in Math learning as the equivalent of auditory mediation in language learning. The latter converts print into audible speech sounds ( for comprehension.). The former converts (and distills) math concepts into visually comprehensible units that are seamless and easy to understand. Such an approach makes Mathematics comprehensible even to those who are numerically and linguistically illiterate. The Karismath video clips have been designed for three screen sizes: large (for overhead projectors), medium (for desk and lap-tops), and small (for mobile devices e.g. smart phones, and regular mobile phones with smaller screens).The course content is being planned to cover all main Math topics from Grade 1 to Grade 8.Most teachers teaching Mathematics in rural areas need to understand the Math they teach. They also need to develop ways of expressing and communicating what they understand. Karismath has been developed to help them do just that. The Karismath clips makes Math comprehensible to learners of all ages. As Director, Neuristix I participated in the design of the KM4MK (Karismath for Mobile Kids) Application for mobile devices with the KM4MK Project Team at the Technical Universities of Geneva and Neuchatel. I also oversaw all the pedagogical aspects of the prototype development of the Karismath iPhone/pad Application.
