I work in the Support HUB at RHS. This includes working one on one with students who struggle intellectually or behaviourally. I also take a Year 9 Maths and Science small group which includes adjusting at level work to suit the student's learning capacity.

In this role, I supported students in one on one mentoring. Creating a safe space was the most important part of my role, followed by facilitating self-reflection and open-ended questioning. I was also able to facilitate two programs, both one on one and in schools in Tasmania and South Australia. Other roles in this position included: Adobe PDF creation, social media, note-taking and end-of-term reports, parent phone calls, and being part of the session recordings in The Rite Journey Anchored program, and the Oasis program. This position at Finding Space taught me a lot about the great need for being a safe space for our young people and sparked my passion to become a school counsellor.
