This is my family's restaurant. I am one of the lead servers and also just go around checking on every table when I have a chance to build a connection with them or if its a family/person we have known for years to just continue building on that strong connection. I manage 2-3 other employee's out there when at full capacity and help train those whenever we hire any new employee's. My current role starting at this restaurant is a Maitre d'/host. I greet customers and welcome them to Luigi's. I take the customers to their seats and inform them of the special while making small talk with them to make them feel welcome. I also take reservations for customers in a detailed fashion so that we know how many are coming, what time, and if they do not show how we can get ahold of them. I was informed by other host and servers that it took all of them months to a year before they were out front and I started out front my very first day following an interview a few days prior which I believe speaks to my strong communication skills and ability to build a rapport with people.

I worked at Family Dollar part-time while working at my family's restaurant full-time and attending college full-time. During my time at Family Dollar I operated their POS system to cash our customers out, unloaded the truck merchandise onto u-boats, stocked merchandise when needed, assisted customers with helping find products, and tried to make the customers feel as welcomed as possible by being polite and making conversation. Reason for leaving: Between working full-time at my family's restaurant and college I did not have the time for my class work that I needed. Since a new manager has taken over (a gentlemen who actually comes into our restaurant) he has offered me on multiple occasions to come back as an assistant manager for him.

After graduating high school I decided to get a second job on top of working at my family's restaurant with a local golf course where I was involved with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the golf course. This was a great experience that allowed me to meet and interact with people. I made plenty of connections during my time here that have benefited me over the years.
