I co-managed the relationships and events schedule for this programme, as well as running skills building sessions on how to campaign effectively, sharing how to put campaigning theory into practice.The role also involved digital content creation, as well as liaising with the media to secure press opportunities for those with visible differences. Throughout my time in the role I championed diversity in not only our recruiting efforts but also the media companies we targeted, to aid the organisation in "walking the walk" as well as "talking the talk" in terms of intersectionality.Within the first month of working with the organisation, my lobbying efforts resulted in a local councillor commenting in the press about an event which upheld negative stereotypes of visible difference, putting pressure on the organisers to cancel in that location. I initiated, planned and launched RISE’s first public policy campaign to change the law to protect domestic abuse survivors’ anonymity in the press. I gained significant traction and impact for this local charity by building relationships with local and national politicians and securing national press coverage. This campaign is ongoing as the Domestic Abuse Bill reaches the House of Lords. As the digital lead I managed the website, social media accounts and digital budget. I led on digital fundraising, launching our first crowdfunder, as well as sourcing a new fundraising and campaigning platform which was more user friendly and cost effective. I managed the data migration between this platform and the old CRM. Alongside this role I began studying a Masters in Campaigning and Social Change.
