My story in wine starts with the flip of a coin and knocking on doors....literally. Heads was Washington State and tails was South Carolina. The coin landed on heads and I packed my bags, said goodbye to sunny Southern California and headed up the coast to the beautiful state of Washington. With an opportunity to ponder on my next steps, I sought after the perfect role that would give me goosebumps. I enjoyed training and wine and began to wonder, "how do you blend 15 years of facilitation, coaching and corporate experience with a love for wine?" You open a winery, run it with every fiber of passion and business skills you have and feed your thirst to learn everyday. So I jumped in learning all things wine, starting with taking courses, hiring a mentor and jumping in to get my hands dirty. After knocking on several doors of "not for sale" properties and hearing dozens of NOs, we finally convinced owners to sell to us. We call a 15 acre property sounded by wine grapes home to our family winery. Frichette Winery is located in the Red Mountain AVA in Washington State and feature premium wines including Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah. With my husband, Greg Frichette, I opened Frichette Winery in the fall of 2013. Today, Frichette Winery produces 3.000 cases annually with over 97 percent sales direct to consumer and a strategic plan to grow to 3,500 cases by year 2023. I get to make premium red wines, work in the vineyard, lead a team of 10 and host guests visiting our winery from all over the place. That's how you blend a career of facilitation, corporate experience and wine and have fun doing so.
