Humans have generated and used data for as long as history remembers. Data that was considered relevant was condensed to stories, wisdom, and our realities and passed down to next generations. The information at our fingertips is unprecedented and nearly endless, evolving our stories and our lives for the better... but some parts of these stories remain same. Endless glut of noise, bias, and under-representation continue to exist. My story has been a complex one. One that has twisted and turned just enough times to help me understand this - it’s getting harder to use data to read and write things that actually matter. Depending on factors not limited to -- who tells a story, the medium of choice, the audience of the story, and the people represented in the story -- equity gets left behind. So I decided to use data to build tools and tell stories that empower humans, equity, and make a (small) difference.SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS• Experiences spanning in clinical role as an optometrist, educational researcher, data scientist with research expertise in clinical sciences and human behavior.• 7 years of experience in applied artificial intelligence to predict, personalize, and empower product design, gaming, user experiences, and human behavior.• 2 years of experience in research and product design consultation with an emphasis on inclusion, access, and user empowerment.• 7 years of graduate teaching experience in topics such as Visual Optics, Multiculturalism, Theories of Learning and Cognition, 21st Century Literacy and Technology.• 4 years of clinical experience handling nearly quarter million patients with various visual disabilities across age groups, involvement in large scale community primary eye care campaigns, and delivering at-home clinical care.Top Skills:• Programming: Python, R, Matlab, STATA, SPSS, JMP • SQL and NoSQL data pipelines• Big Data: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra• Analytics Platforms: IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure, GCP, AWS • Bayesian statistics, Machine Learning, Data Mining, MLOPS• Deep Learning: Keras, Tensorflow & Pytorch• Data Visualizations: Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, D3js, Microsoft Power BI• End-to-End project management

Research AssistantUniversity Of Houston Jun 2014 - Aug 2014Houston, Texas AreaI was a research assistant for the Advanced Anatomy and Histology course at the University of Houston.
