About Bruce Shaffer, Shrm-Scp

I am a proven, forward thinking leader with diverse global and industry experience. Strategic and hands-on as needs require, quickly and effectively producing valuable results in collaboration with business and HR colleagues. The majority of my experience has been with organizations that design, develop, manufacture and service highly technical and engineered products for demanding environments and uses where people, safety and environmental sustainability are paramount. Creating best practice talent management strategies and plans, leading successful recruiting campaigns in challenging markets, building diverse, healthy high performing organizations and cultures, significantly reducing turnover, driving engagement, career development and a positive employee experience.I have developed trusting relationships from the field and shop floor to the board room, coached leaders to success, mentored high-potential professionals and led teams in complex, matrixed organizations. I have had the pleasure of working in and with talented people in the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia. So what do others say about my leadership style? Feedback received from 360 assessments, team engagement surveys and performance reviews have consistently been top quartile. While I drive for desired results with energy and enthusiasm, I have also been described as a calm, trustworthy, insightful and decisive navigator through times of disruption and change. I enjoy serving and giving back by developing, coaching and mentoring others and celebrating when they succeed in achieving professional and personal milestones. While the definition of success is different for everyone, Ralph Waldo Emerson’s description fits most closely with my aspirations and achievements: “To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children … to leave the world a bit better … to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.”
