As the co-founder and CTO of SenseNet Inc., I am passionate about developing innovative solutions for wildfire detection and prevention using AI and IoT. I lead a team of software developers, hardware developers, and researchers to design and implement cutting-edge algorithms and systems that leverage satellite imagery, sensor data, and machine learning models to monitor and predict fire risks and behaviors. My academic background includes a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UBC, where I published over 60 books and papers on ML/AI, optimization, and smart grid, and received multiple awards and fellowships for my research excellence. I collaborate with researchers and industry partners at UBC on various 5G-related projects, applying my expertise in optimization, distributed computing, and network slicing. I am always eager to learn new technologies and explore new challenges in the field of AI.
