When I was at Tidewater Community College I Interned at Entercom (now Audacy) Norfolk as a Production Assistant in 2012. Started my radio career professionally at 95 Jamz in Roanoke Rapids NC as an On-Air Talent in 2013. After graduating from TCC I attended Virginia State University. Had to intern to get my college degree so I chose Clear Channel Richmond (now iHeart Radio). Was hired in 2014 as a member of the Street Team. In 2015, I had an opportunity to be an On-Air Talent at another station because I felt my career was stagnant at iHeart Radio. Later I became an Assistant Program Director but my career was stalled due to COVID. I returned to iHeart Radio in 2021. (My career still feels stagnant just like 6 years ago)My company The Shabazz Media Group, LLC helps Black and Small Businesses grow their business through adequate promotion through audio. Through my company I produce The SS Experience that has a podcast and radio version. SMG, LLC is a company I built during COVID to keep my creative juices flowing. Now it allows me to do things that executives at the current company doesn’t let me do.
