As a buyer at Polysciences, my responsibilities included drafting and following up on purchase orders for multiple business units. I worked closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely receipt of raw materials for production. Other duties included working with the accounting and shipping/receiving departments to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolving issues concerning goods receipt and inventory.

As part of the Supplier Technical Integration team at Merck, my responsibilities include managing changes received from vendors that supplied raw materials and components to the site. Working alongside personnel from the procurement, materials management, quality and regulatory departments, my team and I were responsible for assessing vendor changes and determining the potential process and regulatory impact these changes might have on the processes and end products on site. My team and I managed the majority of these changes using TrackWise change management system and SAP and used these systems to track materials coming into the site. I regularly communicated with vendors as well as technical and quality personnel on site to ensure transparency with regards to incoming vendor changes. Weekly team meetings with people from all relevant departments were utilized fully to expedite the process.
