Seeing whether the landed cost is within target price or not so that sales personnel can make a perfect sales pitch to the client to earn a decent margin. Giving the PO creation request to the Operations team (section of Procurement) and getting it approved from concerned bosses. Following-up with vendor for delivering the material in co-ordination with Logistics and Warehouse department. Before the day of shipping of the materials, informing these 2 departments to get company vehicle ready in cases of local delivery or delivery from the nearest location of another business unit. Sourcing from domestic and international sources. In certain cases, arranging of vehicles by vendor is done where freight cost is included in PO. After, the delivery of materials making sure, the vendor gets payment by Accounts department in accordance with the payment terms( in few cases payment is done against delivery or advance). Developing of new vendors as a major role; for this getting leads from internal sources in some cases, developing new sources from past experience, also registering new vendors through secondary source of information(i.e. the Internet).
