This application is an enterprise wide resource for Kaplan’s education units/businesses.Participated in the whole application development process right from inception as technical lead.Designed the whole application based on a fully layered distributed architecture. Documented functional and technical design of the application. Implemented core back-end and front-end frameworks and components.► Kaplan Learning Platform (KLP) Built Kaplan Learning Platform as a core team member. KLP is a delivery platform for Kaplan’s Web-based education, test prep, and compliance products. It is a comprehensive environment for delivering on-line learning products. Joined the team during requirements phase and developed it as core member through various releases to maturity. Designed and developed various core components of the application including course delivery session EJB, reporting EJB etc. Implemented various custom interfaces with third party applications for vendors and customers. KLP uses EJBs in the middle tier where domain layer is tied to an Oracle database. The client is a Web application that is implemented using Servlets, JSPs, and JavaScript. Almost all of Kaplan’s online products/courses are delivered from KLP.► eScore.comAlso worked on Kaplan's eScore.com e-commerce site. Analyzed and fixed several inventory related database and code issues to make it work better. The site used ATG Dynamo’s e-commerce suite. The back end database used was Oracle.

BSDi is the company that owned original BSD Unix platform. BSDi provided custom server systems with custom software pre-installed based on customer requirements.BSDi provided various RAID server solutions for data centers. Developed a remote management system for RAID controllers. Single handedly designed the Web-based RAID system administration software for various RAID devices. The system features multi-tier and client/server architecture. It uses Servlets and Swing based applets. Native calls are made using JNI into C code. The native application is written for Unix hosts and uses RS-232 serial port to communicate with the RAID sub- system. The primary users of the application are system administrators.The health of RAID systems is critical to data center operations. Wrote an event notification agent for RAID systems. The notification agent used JavaMail API to send e-mail notifications about the RAID system’s health. It used JNI to make native calls into C code that runs on UNIX machines.

Developed a Java IDE primarily used by educators in schools to quickly generate Java code for demonstration and tutoring purposes. Developed several beans components for this Java IDE. The IDE produces pure platform independent Java code. Developed several client/server beans components with RMI integration into the IDE.
