With over 8 years of experience in research and innovation, I have consistently pushed the boundaries of technology to create impactful solutions in human-computer interaction, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and medical imaging. With a Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Chungbuk National University, my work spans across gesture-based interaction, air-writing, and and image enhancement techniques.Currently, I am a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Gallaudet University, leading the development of an immersive VR system for American Sign Language (ASL) education under the NSF-funded SAIL project. By collaborating with 3D artists and motion capture engineers, We've developed a signing avatar and real-time feedback system, achieving 89% accuracy in sign recognition and receiving over 90% positive feedback from user studies.Previously, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Chungbuk National University, I spearheaded projects on MRI image enhancement using deep learning. Further, I developed an enhanced model for air writing and trajectory recognition achieving up to 99% recognition accuracy, demonstrating my commitment to precision and excellence.During my PhD, I introduced a novel finger joint tracking-based writing system using the Intel RealSense camera, achieving 91% recognition accuracy with less than 60 ms recognition time per character. I implemented an air-writing method using machine learning and the Intel RealSense TOF camera, achieving 97% accuracy and created and published the RTD (20k trajectory digits) and RTC (26k trajectory characters) datasets. Additionally, I developed a GAN-based super-resolution algorithm for integral imaging microscopes, enhancing resolution by up to 8 times and significantly improving image quality and illumination. My technical expertise includes proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and various machine learning algorithms, complemented by hands-on experience with devices like Meta Oculus Quest and Intel RealSense.
