As a board-certified pediatrician with a training and expertise in neonatology (Brown University), quantitative methods (Rutgers' School of Public Health) & strategic healthcare management (Rutgers' Business School), I am passionate about improving perinatal resuscitation (science, education, practice & delivery) and optimizing outcomes & quality of life of preterm and sick newborns. Serving as director of clinical research, I systematically evaluate the human and system performance on neonatal care in order to understand disparities, barriers & facilitators, identify potential modifiable factors, develop & integrate newer approaches & technology, implement targeted interdisciplinary teams' training & interventions, and synthesize data on utility, effectiveness & refinement of the provisions in efforts to decrease neonatal morbidity & mortality.As a physician leader, I advocate for building stronger and collegial teams to accomplish academic excellence, outstanding clinical care, patient safety and family satisfaction. Having over a decade of experience as an academic neonatologist at regional tertiary care centers, I dedicate my time & efforts to investigating and innovating cost-effective strategies and tools to the complex challenges faced by neonates and their families as well as frontline healthcare providers and systems.
