As a recent MSW graduate from New York University, I am looking to continue working with the domestic violence population; especially with adolescents working towards preventing and increasing knowledge around intimate partner violence. I have four years of experience working with this population, including extensive training's to increase my knowledge around helping this population.I have an undergraduate degree in Journalism and I am hoping to us my skill set in media and social work together in a platform that will bring this epidemic to the limelight, creating room for survivors to speak freely, creating more awareness and what can be done to help victims and survivors alike. I also want to create a space for victims to freely report when they have been victimized, decreasing the stigma around reporting abuse from strangers and loved ones. Throughout my career at NYU I have been a major advocate for client of DV and sexual assualt. Recently, I have been getting more versed in the politcal realm and policies around that, so I am becoming very interested in the policies and laws surrounding and protecting these victims. As stated before I am interested in working with adolescents, especially urban youth; around DV and IPV, but other things that surround them such as poverty, getting resources they need to survive, going to college etc.
