2023 Mandela Washington Fellow, Shaibu is a Development Professional and agri-entrepreneur with over a decade of experience leading strategic interventions with Non-Governmental Organizations in the areas of youth empowerment, agriculture value chain, social entrepreneurship, climate change adaptation and poverty alleviation. With a Masters’ Degree in Development Policy and Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, he is currently the Project Coordinator of the Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana ‘GrEEn’ Project implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Ghana, an European Union funded project that provides green jobs for the youth and supports sustainable and climate resilient local economies in two regions of Ghana. Shaibu is an active member of the Global Shapers-Kumasi Hub where he volunteers his time and resources for humanitarian work. He also Co-founded Eid Feast Ghana, an annual fundraising campaign to support less privileged families with food and beverages during Eid festivities in Aboabo, a suburb of Kumasi. With a keen interest in youth and agricultural development, he aspires to be part of a generation of youthful change-makers who focus their efforts on influencing Africa’s future.
