Martin in Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada. My primary work involves with GEOS-Chem chemical transport model and satellite data to learn how precursor trace gases emissions of various pollutants affect regional air quality over South East-Asia. I was also involved with improved retrieval of ground-level nitrogen dioxide (NO2) concentrations from polar orbiting satellites (viz. OMI).I have completed my PhD thesis entitled "Studies on aerosol properties over urban environment using satellite data and ground based measurements" in Environmental Sciences in 2010 from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India. During that time period, I have worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in National Remote Sensing Centre, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Hyderabad, India from November, 2005 - May, 2010. My PhD research work includes intensive ground based measurements and integrating satellite remote sensing datasets to describe, model and analyze aerosol characteristics affecting local and regional climate.With a solid physical and remote sensing background and diverse scientific experience, I could conduct interdisciplinary research involving aerosols, greenhouse gas emissions and environmental remote sensing to understand climate dynamics in general and aerosol climate interactions, in particular.
