USC Neuroscience PhD graduate from Dr. Mara Mather's Neuroimaging Emotion and Cognition laboratory. I am passionate about using scientific inquiry to improve human health. My dissertation research focused on investigating age-related changes in diffusion MRI within the locus coeruleus and how it relates to sleep and heart rate variability, utilizing large datasets to inform my findings. During my PhD, I also directed a youth stem outreach program, inspiring under-represented high school seniors to pursue STEM degrees through a 6-week summer program.

Neuroscience Phd CandidateUsc Leonard Davis School Of Gerontology Aug 2017 - May 2022Los Angeles, California, UsAs a PhD candidate, I investigated the relationship between the locus coeruleus and white matter integrity in aging, with a specific emphasis on heart rate variability, sleep patterns, and emotion regulation. I actively collected heart rate variability and sleep data using wearable sensors for a comprehensive clinical intervention study. My expertise in data analysis came to the forefront as I adeptly analyzed complex diffusion tensor MRI, cognitive, and behavioral data, employing tools such as R, MATLAB, FSL, BASH, and MRtrix. Additionally, I delved into cardiovascular analysis, utilizing Kubios to interpret ECG and PPG data, which provided valuable insights into the physiological aspects of my research. Beyond analysis, my proficiency in machine learning techniques enabled me to uncover hidden patterns within the data. Committed to collaboration, I eagerly connected with researchers and organizations. My goal was to contribute to the collective understanding of how aging impacts neurological health and to explore innovative solutions for enhancing the lives of older individuals. -
