Developing mathematical and simulation models of kinship dynamics; explore socioeconomic implications of kinship networks

- Utilized a matrix-based kinship model to analyze kinship network dynamics in response to changes in mortality and fertility; published in Demographic Research (2023).- Employed mathematical modeling and modern portfolio theory to explore variations in age at death and its impact on pension claiming decisions, with an example of the U.S. Social Security system.- Conducted phylogenetic generalized linear regression and phylogenetic principal component analysis to investigate correlations among key life history traits across over 600 species of animals and plants; published in Ecology Letters (2022).- Applied the first method for calculating the exact probability distribution of lifetime reproductive success (LRS) using age-specific demographic rates to modern human populations. Explored variations in fertility quantity in U.S. female birth cohorts and highlighted the effect of female survival and fertility propensity (i.e., dependence on parity) on fertility outcomes.
