In addition successfully setup a coffee importation business based in melbourne, bringing coffee/products & machinery from Italy and distributing to hospitality/corporate businesses. Was eventually bought out by Coffex Australia after 8 years.

It is a real sense of achievement personally & proffessionally when we are humbled as westerners by the dedication, work ethic and unbelievable results achieved of these local people... when they are generally thought of as the secondary role fillers, cleaners & incapable of understanding meditteranean flavours and techniques. I actually found the whole process a little easier than back at home, with english speaking staff. Many eye openers and good lessons from my time in Bali.

So instead of directing resources to marketing and sales, we were lucky in being able to focus mostly on customer training and efficient service delivery. This personalised touch was a rarity in this Industry. In the end we sold the business to a much larger coffee company, who wanted to break into the upper demographic of the coffee business. Adding this line to their portfolio gave them a firm foundation in an area that they previously didnt pursue. It was a sad and difficult thing to let go of. Coffee and everything that goes with it, as well as the relationships that develop over time. But an amazing experience in the end.
