Hello - my name is Brendan! I am currently the Community Operations Manager for the Orbit Program at the Filecoin Foundation, where I manage a global community of Filecoin ambassadors who host hackathons, events, and more. In my role, I am responsible for overseeing the ambassador program, including recruiting and training new members/organizations, as well as organizing and supporting global hackathon events.In addition to my current role, I am passionate about pop culture, music, photography, and the outdoors. Over the past three years, I've worked in the tech & web3 industry, helping to scale companies from the pre-product stage to leading organizations.As a Brand Manager, I have organized beta testnets with hundreds of participants, growth-hacked company Twitter's to have 12k+ followers, and scaled online communities from zero to thousands. I have a proven track record of success in grassroots marketing and pride myself on my ability to grow user bases for products. I am also skilled in creating and managing large Discord and Reddit communities with bots and moderators.In my previous role at Cryptex Finance, a company focused on building crypto index funds, I was responsible for managing our social media presence and growing our community. I played a key role in scaling the company, leading to listings on major exchanges such as Coinbase, as well as building a vibrant and engaged community around our product. I also created partnerships with other web3 protocols, leading to integrations and comarketing campaigns. I am well-versed in the crypto/web3 industry and have grown a large network in the space.In addition to my professional experience, I am an entrepreneur at heart. I have helped brand and design multiple iOS games and have run their social media strategy. I previously co-founded Grand Fantasy, the first Daily Fantasy Sports protocol to use decentralized Chainlink data oracles. This project received funding from the Polygon blockchain, as well as marketing support from Chainlink Labs, highlighting the unique use case it unlocked in the industry.Overall, I am a dedicated and ambitious individual with a strong background in brand management, business development, and community building.
