Energy Advisory and capacity development of Energy regulators in the Pacific Islands

I have been working for H&T since 2012. I am H&T’s key petroleum advisor for the Pacific Islands, having previously worked in Fiji for 10 years. I provide strategic advice and comprehensive energy analysis to both local and international clients. I have a passion for working on environmental and climate change issues in the Pacific Islands in addition to my work on the energy sector.

My Responsibilities include:Updating weekly the New Zealand fuel price monitor, a subscription web-based service, including explaining fuel product price build-ups and producing pricing charts. Analysing and interpreting petroleum statistics and other data and produce relevant reports.Researching and investigating information to enable strategic decision-making by H&T clients. This included developing an LPG freight cost estimator model for Pacific Islands importing LPG from Australia and New Zealand.Economic analysis and market evaluation to support capital investment decisions in the petroleum fuels and LPG sector.Providing advice to the Pacific island countries and territories including petroleum and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply, demand, pricing and procurement.Responsible for providing a monthly petroleum price and quarterly LPG price verification service to government of Tonga. Developing a quarterly regional LPG price comparison report to Pacific islands. This is a public document which demonstrates LPG Saudi Contract price, regional average landed cost and government duty and taxes.

Petroleum Data and Advisory Services

 Petroleum data and Advisory Services for Pacific Island Countries.- Strengthen the Petroleum Database and make Petroleum Data and information available for the Pacific Islands Countries (PIC’s).- Provide advice to PIC’s on Petroleum and related matter.- Revive Pacific Fuel Price Monitor- Assisting Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat on Bulk Petroleum Procurement project.- Strengthen Pacific Crisis Plan for Petroleum (PCPP)- Regional Biofuel standards, monitoring and testing’s.- Environmental impact of Fuel distribution in Pacific

- Identifying the environmental risks posed by, and the environmental compliance issues facing BP’s SWP business. - Contribute to the development of strategies and programs to manage the issues identified above, and execute these at the local level – including embedding environmental management systems and processes into the business.- Act as the Remediation Management (RM) contact point for the region and oversee ongoing RM monitoring programs.- Key resource in the response to, and management of, environmental incidents.- Build strategic relationships with local Environmental Regulators and influence local policy direction.- Provide professional environmental advice to BP’s businesses as required and manage compliance with legislative requirements.
