The fellowship is part of a global network of early-career scientists poised to be leaders in health security.● Participated in discussions regarding international frameworks for health security, biosafety, and biosecurity, and to provide a potential implementation of locally relevant biosecurity solutions aligned with international best practices.● Co-led a sharing and workshop session to raise awareness of biosafety and biosecurity issues among postgraduate researchers. During the session, attendees completed pre- and post-workshop tests, demonstrating an improved understanding of the subject matter by a minimum of 50%.● Presented posters at two A-PBA Biorisk Conferences (2023 & 2024) on topics regarding biosafety and biosecurity.

Best Written Report & Presenter for Progress Presentation Seminar Semester 1: 19/20● Conducted experiments and writings that contributed to the research output of the Institute through collaborative research and publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.● Regularly collect and present the data appropriately to a panel, at least twice a year.

Innovative Research Exhibition (IREx) 2023.● Organised an exhibition with the theme "Innovation for A Sustainable Future" in collaboration with graduates, research fellows, and support staff. IREx 2023 gathered 59 teams (~200 participants) from various levels of institutions including international affiliations, and was attended by at least 100 visitors for the day.● Initiated the workflow for the organising committees so that the progress and program milestones can be tracked. Some progress/milestones include following up on program invites to institutions, handling the event location, and managing the quotation for prizes and souvenirs.

INBIOSIS Biotechnology Aspiration Carnival (IBAC) 2023.● Collaborated with the members of the INBIOSIS Graduate Student Association to arrange an event celebrating biotechnology and cultivating interest in science & technology among secondary schoolers. IBAC 2023 welcomed 6 schools (~120 schoolers) to visit the research centres and laboratories of INBIOSIS. The schoolers also had the chance to attend career talks by prominent speakers from Akademi Sains Malaysia, MARDI, Agro Pintar Sdn Bhd, and Leave A Nest Malaysia.● Hosted the formalities throughout IBAC and ensured the transition between the visits and the opening and closing ceremonies remained smooth. Also conducted the career talks session.

International Postgraduate Symposium in Biology, Biotechnology, & Bioengineering (IPSBIO3) 2021.● Teamed up with research fellows, graduates, and support staff to manage an international symposium on scientific research that encourage knowledge exchange and networking of at least 80 international attendees.● Launched the official website for the symposium, ipsbio3.wordpress.com. Consulted the committee to arrange relevant website content which managed to attract more than 2000 views globally.

Secretary for INBIOSIS Graduate Student Association (20/21)● Formulated paperwork for an industrial visit to the neighbouring research facility, the Malaysia Genome Institute (MGI) in 2019. A total of 25 delegates were involved in the MGI visit which focused on 3 laboratories with different niches appropriate to the country’s research agenda.

Worked on the discovery of plant viruses in Malaysia. ● Clarified the research protocols – DNA extraction, RT-PCR, and gel electrophoresis, among others – and was involved in the training of newcomers regarding the research facilities and equipment.

Worked on the highly valuable elastin extract project.● Formulated the standard operating procedures for research on protein extraction from animal by-products using a bioreactor. This process not only improves the cost per yield by more than 100% compared to conventional laboratory methods but also reduces the time taken for the output collection.● Reviewed reports and provided necessary adjustments leading to one of them being accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.● Educated secondary schoolers on the topics of microbiology through an event ‘Microbe Carnival’. I shared scientific knowledge especially regarding meat microbiology and “how to handle food at home” with at least 100 attendees.● Utilised the Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) on meat sensory acceptance research. The QDA allowed me to partake in research regarding the consumption of meat products, which could benefit the local cattle industry worth at least thousands of MYR.

Worked under the supervision of Dr Miguel de-Lucas on the research titled "Characterising the Interaction between CLF with BIN2 and BZR1 Proteins".● Investigating protein interaction involved in chromatin remodelling, elucidating the pathway to improving plant growth and development.

Institute Darul Ridzuan (IDR) is a think tank for the state of Perak. IDR hosted the Pangkor Dialogue, an international conference that aims to inspire sustainable economic growth in the region. Daily updates for the event were reported in Pangkor Dialogue Daily (2016), the official conference bulletin. As News Correspondent, I was involved in:- ● Interviewing at least 100 participants and attendees.● Collecting pertinent news from stakeholders to be included in Pangkor Dialogue Daily that disseminates information to all participants and exhibitors throughout the week.
