Shalyn Knight is a Brisbane based artist. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary and Applied Theatre from Griffith University and works as a contracted Stage Manager for Creative Regions Ltd and School2Stage. She has a passion for the arts as a whole and is versatile across performance, technical and facilitation. Most recently she was a member of La Boite Theatre Company’s, Young Artist Company for 2018, devising, writing and stage managing their play ‘Define ‘Adult’. She also completed an internship with Jack Morton Worldwide as part of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games. Professionally, Shalyn was contracted as a a crew member for Creative Regions Crush Festival QLD and as their Stage Manager for the Socially Engaged Theatre Program, with two sold out seasons of Elephant in the Room and Grey Nomads vs the World, which is set to tour state-wide in 2019. She recently made her film debut as Sister Ada Smith in the Sir John Monash Centre Experience (Wildbear Entertainment) and features as a re-occurring extra in the pilot TV season of Harrow (Hoodlum Entertainment, ABC) as well as a number of commercials.
