My name is Dr. Shama Mujawar ( Assistant professor). My research interests are in the area of multidrug resistance in bacteria which I have developed with my biotechnology and bioinformatics skills especially in drug designing, genomics and proteomics. Thus, I have pursued my Ph.D. in the same area of antimicrobial resistance on the thesis entitled “Developing Novel Health Intervention Against Multidrug Resistant Bacteria”, at Sunway University, Malaysia. During my Ph.D. studies, I have explored different/novel drug targets involved in multidrug resistance mechanisms. Also, I have theoretically designed the antibacterial compound against these mechanisms that could plausibly stand out to be the wonder drug that can be confirmed by further pharmacological studies. At Sunway, I was involved in handling different collaborative international projects for internal and external grants. I was also involved in the Sunway-Lancaster joint collaborative project on “EV71 virulent proteins” as Research Associate. The accomplishment of this project work has given me the opportunity to visit Lancaster University with the Travel grant award.I have over 8.5 years of experience in research and teaching. My work experience has made me proficient in Bioinformatics, Computational and System Biology, Comparative genomics, proteomics and NGS. It has also made me efficient at analyzing and interpreting data, handling various projects of research students to work independently from framing projects to writing manuscripts.
