The Project focused on the Flood affected areas by the 2022 floods. The project Sindh Flood Emergency Housing Reconstruction Project (SFEHRP) aims to beneficiary-driven, multi-hazard resilient reconstruction of core housing units affected by the 2022 floods in 24 districts of Sindh. The project is working on three main components ie: Housing Reconstruction Grants, Institutional Strengthening & Technical Assistance, Project Management & Implementation Support

The Project focused on the improvement of Secondary Education specifically for girls in 10 targeted districts of Sindh.The Gender Specialist responsible to develop a Gender Action Plan (GAP) along with a detailed implementation plan with updated timeframes, as necessary to ensure that those actions and activities are implemented, monitored, complied with, and reported in accordance with Govt. of Sindh and ADB’s relevant Policies. Specific tasks include:

Worked as an Advisor Community Mobilization in Sindh Community Mobilization (CMP)funded by USAID based in Karachi. She is overall responsible for technical and managementof community mobilization component of the project. Specific tasks included:- Provide strategic direction to team by reviewing different models of communitymobilization,- Designed community mobilization strategy for program in alignment with overall programgoals- Review and develop and implement innovative strategies and guidelines during the projecttime- Capacity building of team and communities by providing field orientation and organizingtraining for field teams, -- Conceptualize and designing of training modules for school management committees (SMC)training- Provide guidance in developing baseline survey tools and other monitoring tools- Provide guidance to community mobilization teams in developing of School ImprovementPlans,- Technical input in designing of community sensitive IEC material-, developed annual work plan with activity based budgeting to ensure execution ofcommunity empowerment strategy,- Provide capacity building,technical and managerial backstop to CMP field team and subcontractors’teams for effective implementation of work plan,- Develop the concept papers, strategies, resource requesting and other documentation formajor community based activities.- Establish coordination with Education Department at provincial and district level,implementing partners, communities and donor agency for coherent operations.- Organize documentation of all community engagement activities and prepare reports andpresentations to showcase component’s outcomes.Oversee capacity building portfolio; ensure that training manuals, IEC material and sessionsare addressing communities’ needs. Designed community outreach framework to expand theout reach through mass mobilization.

Worked as Program Manager Community Mobilization. As a Program Manager I was overallresponsible for implementing the project. Specific achievements included:- Managed and provided technical support to the program team in implementation of fieldactivities. – Developed training manuals of community mobilization in accordance withCMP/IRD policies and ensure that strategies, frameworks and cross-cutting themes aremainstreamed.- Provide technical input preparing annual work plan and provided support to the districtteams in meeting high programmatic standards in terms of design, implementation,monitoring and evaluation through CMP Project Cycle Management System, QualityGuidelines and PMP Framework.- Coordination with different stakeholders particularly with education department atprovincial and district level.- Acted as a focal point for the implementation of Community Mobilization activities as perCMP/IRD guidelines. --Developed community mobilization guidelines and manual and trainedfield teams on it.- Provided guidance in developing baseline survey tools i.e. village profile, stakeholderanalysis, SMC functionality, social mobilization plans and school improvement plans,- Reviewed and developed training manuals for School Management Committees (SMCs) andsub committees on social mobilization, school improvement plans, increase girl’s enrollment,Gender, DRR and WATSAN.- Assisted nutrition component in designing and conducting baseline of nutrition component;- Provided technical input in designing of enrollment campaigns and facilitate field teams inorganizing the enrolment campaigns and community recognition days.- Acted as a focal person for documentation and communication, success stories, photos andother program documents.

Worked as a Programme Coordinator – Implementation based in Hyderabad – Sindh. TheProgramme Coordinator was overall responsible for implementing the various projectsnutrition, education and focusing on emergency, recovery and rehabilitation in variousdistricts of Sindh i.e. Dadu, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Jacobabad. The maintasks included project management, providing support to local partner organizations informulation of various strategies such as social mobilization and community development,disaster risk reduction, procurement and gender strategies;, providing technical support indesigning of field plans and implementation activities; capacity building and mentoring ofproject partners in developing project proposals and its effective implementation, monitoringand reporting of the projects. The programme coordinator was also responsible fordeveloping linkages with various stakeholders including government, CSOs and donorcommunity at provincial level.

Worked as a Gender and Education Consultant to design discussion Guide book and facilitateRound Table Discussion Forum with Stakeholders. The main purpose of the stakeholderconsultation was to assess the needs and scale of interventions for addressing gender parityin education.

Worked as a Programme Manager - Education and Training. Main Responsibilities includeProject Management, Project Proposal Writing, Program Asseessment and Monitoring,Designing Training Modules, Training Facilitation and Networking with different stakeholders.

Worked as Social Sector Development Advisor with Districts That Work (DTW) project ofUSAID. DTW was a project of USAID to implement governance reforms at district level. Beinga Social Sector Development Advisor, I provided technical assistance, support andcoordination to various stakeholders related to Education and Health sector including DistrictGovernment, NGOs and District Education Management Teams and District HealthManagement Teams etc. In Addition, I also provided technical assistance to the governmentand NGOs in developing Performance Management Tools (PMT), School Action Planning anddecision making at District and School level; and build capacity of district departmentofficials in Sindh and NWFP provinces to effectively implement PMT, data validation andschool action planning.

Worked as a consultant in Social Mobilization Unit to develop social mobilization strategy,management plan and training modules related to social mobilization. During this period, anassessment of public sector schools was conducted in NWFP to assess infrastructure needs ofschools and develop project proposals.

Worked as gender consultant with UNICEF and evaluated the Flood Relief project of UNIECEFin Sindh and Baluchistan.

Worked as a field researcher to coordinate and conduct various assignments. During thisperiod, I was responsible for following three assignments:- Drought assessment: The study focused on assessing people’s understanding of drought,effects of drought and coping mechanisms of people in water, food security and livelihoodsectors. The assignment was funded by Catholic Relief Services (CRS).- Impact assessment of Ending Violence against Women (EVAW) project: The project aimed atchanging people’s attitude towards violence against women; and built capacity of civilsociety organisations, police and judiciary to work for combating violence in society. Theproject was implemented by Oxfam – Pakistan.- State Torture against Citizens: Worked as a Gender Consultant to conduct a research studyin Sindh Province on State Torture Against Citizens. The research focused on collecting andanalysing data from state organizations and other stakeholders including judiciary, police,media, civil society organizations and communities.

Worked as District Manager Hyderabad Sindh with ESRA, a project of USAID. The projectfocused on working with the district government to implement the education reforms at thedistrict level. There were four technical Program areas including Policy & Planning,Professional Development of teachers & Administrators, Youth & Adult Literacy & PublicPrivate\ community Partnerships. District Manager was responsible for overall management,coordination and implementation of the project. Being a district manager, I managed theteam of over 20 staff members including programme and support staff. The mainresponsibilities included coordination with district government and administration particularlywith education department, developing project proposals, planning and monitoring of theproject and liaison with other civil society organisations at Provincial level. The position alsoprovided support to the government in formulation of School Management Committees(SMCs) and their capacity building to enhance community participation in the educationsector.

Worked with Asian Development Bank as a Field Coordinator to facilitate the process offormulation of Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) in Sindh province. Under this assignment,stakeholder consultations/ analysis was conducted in district Dadu and provincial capitalKarach

Worked as a Program Analyst based in Karachi Office of ESRA. The position was required toassist district government and project offices of selected districts in implementation of theprogramme. Main responsibilities included developing, reviewing and monitoring of projectProposals for district Improvement Grants; facilitating district government and districtEducation Department for the initiatives of education; monitoring of teacher trainingprograms; assisting technical staff in developing the teacher training modules andcoordination of programme activities at district level.

Worked as a Program Coordinator Capacity Building and Projects based in Hyderabad district.As a Program Coordinator, I worked in various districts of Sindh including Shikarpur, Khairpur,Ghotki, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Karachi, Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas etc.The main thrust of the programme was to build capacity of the community basedorganisations (CBOs), NGOs and local networks by providing them training, information,project funding and facilitating networking with government and other support organisations.Main responsibilities included capacity building of NGOs and CBOs in designing andimplementation of community development initiatives; technical appraisal of the projectssubmitted by NGOs and CBOs; planning, implementation and analysing training plan ofNGOs; conducted Training Need assessment (TNA) of partner organizations and networks;conduct training sessions on Development, Planning, Management and project developmentfor CBOs\ NGOs in rural & urban areas; strategy development workshops for NGOs \Networks; develop project proposals for partner organizations; monitoring and evaluation ofprojects and report writing.

Worked as a Program Associate Fellowship School Project. The project was funded by theWorld Bank and implemented in Kahirpur district. The main thrust of the project was todevelop a model of public – private partnership to increase enrolment and ensure qualityeducation. Main responsibilities included developing of training manuals and teaching kits,designing of new scheme for pre-school programme, training of field teams, working asresource person for teacher training, monitoring and follow-up of project activities, developlinkages of community and education department and enhancing community/ parentparticipation in project activities and capacity Building of Parent Education Committees.

Worked as Education Promoter & Gender Officer in Tharparkar. The main thrust of the projectwas to mobilize women and other disadvantaged groups in the villages in grassrootsdevelopment and to provide them with inputs in health, education, micro credit and incomegeneration activities. Main Responsibilities included formation of male and female groups totake part in local development efforts in Tharparkar region; conduct capacity buildingtrainings for male and female organizations; establishment of Community based Schoolsafter the process of community mobilization; monitoring of community based schools;conduct school based teacher trainings and develop curriculum in local language forcommunity based schools.
