Working as a cashier at Amazing Wings Guys has allowed me to successfully complete financial transactions on the POS register and accurately handle cash payments. I was responsible for successfully opening and closing register tills to ensure secure cash handling. In addition, I diligently verified and organized bi-weekly stock of food/supplies. I was also actively involved in community events by promoting the restaurant brand to gain traction through customers. Such opportunities enabled me to network with community members and develop my communication skills.

Working as a recruitment coordinator at HOOPP has enabled me to enhance my organization and problem-solving skills by achieving various administrative duties and working alongside HR professionals. My responsibilities throughout my 8-month work term included scheduling virtual and in-person candidate interviews (1st-3rd round) for hiring managers across various teams, for full-time, contract, and student positions in quick time. In addition, I successfully reviewed candidate resumes and shortlisted for the review of hiring managers for various technical roles and conducted HR phone screens. I was able to participate in critical meetings with the recruitment team and HR Business Partners and associates to discuss how to achieve strategic objectives.

My position as a sales associate allows me to successfully operate financial transactions (sales, returns, etc.) and assist customers in the buying process. This enables me to contribute to the store reaching the highest sales across the region and having a high customer satisfaction.

As a junior recruiter, I was able to successfully recruit candidates for IT/technical roles by pipelining candidates through Monster to obtain contract positions at Scotiabank. Such positions include Business Analyst, Quality Analyst, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Project Manager, etc. I utilized effective communication and negotiation skills to inform candidates on active job openings and confirm interview availability once candidates were selected by the hiring manager. I was able to analyze candidates’ resume to search for key skills/requirements to provide detailed job examples from previous experiences and create submission packages for the hiring manager of Scotiabank.

As a supervisor, my responsibility was to train new employees and analyze progress which enabled me to part take in the hiring process and be knowledgeable about what qualities to look for in ideal employees. I rapidly learned how to process online orders and verify shipments, permitting me to provide customers with orders and put out merchandise on the sales floor in quick time. I also successfully coordinated employee break time and closed register tills leading to organized schedules and effective management.

Working at Wing Station allowed me to utilize technological/networking skills during the creation of the company, resulting in more customers and a social media following. Part of my responsibilities were to actively post promotions on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. I also canvassed in neighborhoods to deliver flyers and promote the company leading to the attraction of new customers and customer loyalty.

As a cashier I was able to apply strong communication and leadership skills to interact with customers and co-workers resulting in high productivity and cohesion. In addition, I also worked in a fast-paced environment to serve food and drinks, acquiring positive customer satisfaction

Working as a co-op student allowed me to perform tasks such as shadowing nurses and caregivers to mimic behaviour/actions in order to look after and care for dependent seniors (including residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s).
