Team leader of the post fixture operations team responsible for operations of vessels calling at Vale’s terminals in Philippines, Malaysia and Mozambique and managed freight contracts worth USD 120.0 million annually. I also managed the performance (technical, safety, commercial and financial) of Vale’s transhippers in Subic Bay that were a critical part of the distribution chain prior to the Valemaxes calling at Chinese ports directlyAnalyzed the performance of Vale’s owned and chartered fleet to identify areas of improvements and took measures to address the same and benchmarked the performance of Vale’s fleet, against the chartered fleet, owned and managed by several ship managers to improve the efficiency of Vale owned fleet,

Analyzed historical, current and possible future trends affecting global shipping markets and developed short to medium and long-term strategies for the shipping department. Participated in and contributed to the development of commodity sales and distribution strategies by analyzing all costs across the entire logistics chain. Improved voyage efficiency across the fleet by optimizing the trade-off between fuel consumption and voyage duration and assisted in development of in-house freight forecasting model for dry bulk marlet.Led, directed and successfully delivered two (02) vessel conversion projects – from VLOC to Floating Transshipment Station (FTS) – for deployment in Subic Bay, Philippines. Each project was valued at USD 50.0 million

Led effective cross-functional and multi-cultural teams, managed and directed vessel drydock and conversion project valued at USD 1.5 – 2.5 million. Member of the core team allocated to handle challenging projects awarded by oil & gas majors and cruise liners and ensured strict adherence to budget and project schedule without compromising safety standards. Responsible for condition monitoring and planned maintenance of marine auxiliary systems thus ensuring uninterrupted vessel performance to meet head charterer’s requirements. I also coordinated and implemented vessel’s safety management system to ensure zero accident throughout.

Reporting to the vessel’s Chief Engineer, assisted with operation of marine propulsion engines always ensuring compliance with international marine anti-pollution regulations. I was also responsible for forecasting on-board bunker requirements and implementing fuel oil management plan
