I've been in the National Guard since I was 17 years old and have loved every experience it has offered me. I've been able to directly transfer skills I've learned into my civilian career. It has taught me how to deal with high stress situations, time management, and the ambiguous nature of the IT world. It has also taught me how to grow and develop as a member of a team. - Essential member of closing operations for the Carbonite/Mozy space in St. George to include: decommissioning and shipment of over 2k production servers, inventory management and tracking, UPS/PDU and CAT5/6 cable removal, destruction of over 70 petabytes of storage and various other tasks.- Assisted US based customers by ingesting their data to Mozy’s cloud storage and provided support in rebuilding, processing and shipping customers data back to them, if requested.- Provided support with kernel upgrades as part of a hardware refresh and replaced any parts that failed due to age.- Performed daily preventative maintenance through weekly power audits, hardware assessment checks, and hard-drive replacement. This was the best group of people that I worked with. The cohesion our team had was highly uncommon and when it came to high-stress, high-profile jobs around the globe we were always the team in mind to get things done. I was promoted into a senior role in the year 2015 under Dell/EMC.- Worked with EMC's remote team in daily monitoring and installation of live production servers.- Assisted in the installation of EMC's Beatle Lab, which consisted of Atmos racks.- Headed the hard drive RMA process and documented the steps needed.- Performed a daily bad drive replacement routine.- Helped ingest data through Mozy's Datashuttle program.- Part of the team that stood up an entire pod and hub group for MozyBC.- Knowledgable of EMC's current ticketing system.

This is where it all started for me. I was able to network with the right people, get in touch with job contacts and served as a real stepping stone for my career path. I loved getting to know everyone and still keep in touch with many.- Worked for TDC as a Network Operations Control operator supervising and correcting any issues that arose within the datacenter. - Monitored multiple data rooms for abnormal temperature or any other deficiencies.- Served as the first contact point in and out of the building.- Maintained the 24k square foot building by performing routine security checks.
