I currently work for Santander Business to support the management, development and delivery of the first line of defence control framework for front office colleagues within London and East division which consist circa 150 individuals. This involves strategic planning, implementation of new controls as well as periodical review on effectiveness of existing controls within areas of operational support on governance, anti-money laundering, financial crime, GDPR, business continuity planning and regulatory compliance requirements.My work requires me to regularly engage and maintain a close relationship with business senior management regionally and across the wider Bank supporting respective regions across the division to identify and mitigate emerging risks while working collaboratively with the other Divisional Operational and Control teams.During my time in the role, I have successfully implemented and maintained a strong first line of defense control framework within London and East division since the inception of Santander Business in July 2018. With the support I provided and changes implemented, L&E division has achieved 100% pass rate on some of the most complex risk control activities. I have been involved in several project varying from GDPR embedding within front office to workshops on Financial Crime, Credit Rik training and new starter training programs.

My role as University Relationship Branch Manager involves managing the partnerships between Santander Universities and University of Hertfordshire as well as maintaining and driving the overall performance in branch ensuring deliver of the measurable outputs.Santander Universities is the flagship CSR programme of the Bank and my role is to ensure we are focused on helping students, graduates, staff, academics and their communities prosper. Our leading schemes include Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards and our part-funded SME Internship programme. I bring together the skills, opportunities and connections of Santander for the benefit of the University and the local community we serve. I also organise and hold bi-annual Senior Working Group Meetings with the key stakeholders at the university to discuss the areas of the current agreement and relationship and set out our strategic goals to enhance the collaboration with the University Partner, whilst promoting Santander brand.Additionally I worked extensively to transform the branch from being not just a facility on campus but fully integrated with the university. During my time in the role, I have significantly increased the support given to the university, including increasing the number of events that my team arrange or support, such as CV Workshops, Career Talks and Sessions and also providing mentoring to entrepreneurial students looking to start their own businesses.My day to day work involves preparing weekly and monthly risk reports analysing any risks in the branch which need addressing and remediating to mitigate any risks to the branch, customers or the bank. I invest my time in coaching and developing my team to ensure that they remain competent in their role, providing constructive feedback for them to be able to enhance their customer relationships. I have a strong track record in developing my staff evidenced by all my personal bankers being promoted during my time in role.
