As the CEO & College Master at Mandelbaum House, a residential college at the University of Sydney, I am responsible for the overall management & welfare of the College and its students. Leading a strong, motivated & highly capable team with high retention rate of staff & excellent reviews from residents, I take a hands-on approach. My role is multi-faceted & as CEO, Financial Manager, Marketing, Alumni & Advancement, Master & Senior Tutor, I am a trusted mentor, counsellor & friend, engaging in a range of duties that would normally be tasks of many. Working closely with Council & external consultants to provide Best Practice, I am also accountable for delivering the Strategic Plan & operating effectively to maintain financial viability.Every day my skills in communication, listening, guiding & meeting multiple demands are put to the test. I strive to achieve the best outcome for all & thoroughly enjoy each challenge that comes my way.I maintain close community relations including strong ties with the other USYD residential colleges & Shalom College at UNSW, & international affiliations including Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I enjoy creating an inclusive atmosphere through celebrating festivals & creating activities to engage all students regardless of religion. Key Achievements:- Achieved 100% room occupancy since 2006 during the academic year. - Successfully turned around the college from relying on the Mandelbaum Trust to complete sufficiency & even profit which gets ploughed back for improved student services.- Established a scholarship fund to promote philanthropy- so far 30+ students have benefited from this initiative.- Proven track record of working effectively with the Mandelbaum Trustees, Council, & Academic Advisory committee, receiving repeatedly high praise via 3rd contract renewal & permanent appointment.- Created a vibrant community and leadership opportunities for residents.

As the Business Development Manager I managed the office and 30 tour products for the international student market.

This contract role in 2001, 2002 and 2004 was accountable for leading back-to-back coach tours to 35 cities in 11 European countries. I was responsible for conducting city tours (walking and coach tours), introducing countries and cities and providing history, social, economic, political and cultural insights, maintaining a tight budget (of different currencies) and creating tour leader notes and revising passenger dossiers.

In this role I led historical pub tours in the Rocks area. I also led curriculum based school tours for primary and high school students in the Sydney suburbs of The Rocks and in Pyrmont. I was also responsible for training tour guides to lead the two new products I designed.Key Achievements:- Designed two tours, Finding Your Feet in Sydney and Aussie Legends and Superstars specifically for students studying English. - Created a business marketing plan, tour guide manual and a teacher’s activity pack for the tours I designed.

In this role I provided support for Jewish students across NSW and Australia, regularly visiting smaller campuses. Key responsibilities included co-ordinating and running the educational and interfaith programs for students and the wider community; running programs at various student camps, seminars, and conferences; supervising the Assistant Director and providing assistance, motivation and counselling to students.During my tenure I worked with the team who introduced Limmud Oz, Melton and other new initiatives and served on the selection committee for student leaders to lead international programs. Key Achievements:Introduced new programmes including JAM (Jewish Awareness Month) and Leadership Academy (six week leadership programme, offered at three levels). Designed and ran a leadership program (AUJS LDP) for 12 outstanding Australian student leaders to Hong Kong, England and Israel over a period of six weeks.

As the Teen Director I designed a programme for teenagers on several cruises and was responsible for conducting social activities and safety drills on the cruise liner. This was a casual role in the school holidays. I returned to this role for two cruises in 2004 and 2005 on the Princess Cruise Liner and worked as Teen Director and Childcare worker.

In this role in 1993-1995 and 1997 I conducted business, hospitality and food technology tours and explained the “behind the scenes” operation of Sydney Tower Restaurants for school groups. I was also responsible for training and supervising new tour guides.
