I position the institution strategically, and establish its leadership as authorities and thought leaders on a wide variety of subjects including community impact, biodiversity research, decolonization, climate change, sustainability, equity in STEAM education and workforce development, cultural heritage, and more.The Natural History Museums of LA County have one of the largest natural and cultural collections in the world and the largest in the western U.S. Our Museums include NHM in Exposition Park, La Brea Tar Pits & Museum in mid-Wilshire, and William S. Hart Museum in Newhall. NHM will open its new wing, NHM Commons, in September 2024. We are in the process of reimagining La Brea Tar Pits, a major overhaul project for the 13-acre park and museum, which will be realized within the next 5-8 years.

I led a large, multi-faceted marketing, communications, sales and customer experience operation for the LA Phil and its venues Hollywood Bowl and Walt Disney Concert Hall, and was responsible for $74+M in earned revenue.My purview included branding, marketing planning, strategic communications, promotions & partnerships, strategic planning, creative services, revenue management, research, analytics, public relations, digital strategy and engagement, customer relationship management, guest experience, concessions and retail services. I also served as the marketing liaison to the Board of Directors, and oversaw a team of 120 full-time, union, part-time and seasonal staff.During my tenure, I increased ticket sales by 10%, spearheaded new programs, partnerships and practices, developed strategic plans for major milestones including the introduction of Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil Centennial, fostered culture change, increased staff and audience diversity, and improved resource allocation by optimizing use of data and digital technologies. The LA Phil is the leading orchestral organization in the U.S., presenting 250+ multi-genre performances annually at iconic venues Hollywood Bowl (17,400 seats), Walt Disney Concert Hall (2,265 seats), and now The Ford (1,200 seats), and Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen YOLA Center (educational).
