I am currently looking to push myself out of the comfort zone of my private practice and consulting work. I have been in the human services field now for 25+ years. First, as a Bachelors level Social Worker for NEMCSA Head Start for 15 years. From there I worked as a Infant Mental Health Worker for DHD #2 for 2 years and then opened my private practice. I have been in private practice for 11 years. I see individuals in person and remotely as well as deliver training seminars from curricula I have developed. In addition I also currently serve as the Mental Health Consultant for NEMCSA Early Head Start where I consult as well as train staff from my own training materials. I would like to expand my work and shift some of my time into teaching, training, and developing curricula and materials in relation to the mental health field. I have developed many different materials for training. I LOVE doing it!Why me? Throughout the last 25+ years of my professional career in human services, I have learned how to help people foster forward thinking, gain self-awareness, and push themselves to success. I have also learned if you wish for someone to consume information in this day and age it must be short and to the point and interesting! As for me, I like to be clinical, yet personable, and entertaining! I would describe myself as fun, enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate. Organization and efficiency are important to me and I feel I can work well as a team or individually. I work best in a small team or on my own. I have maintained a home office for most of my professional career and maintain my own business in my community. I deliver services mostly through tele-health and am very comfortable doing so. I am familiar with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Trello, Slack, and other forms of online communication and organization. I am both an LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor and a LBSW - Licensed Bachelor Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I have completed many trainings relative to the mental health field. I also have been involved in many different volunteer positions to serve my community.
